I have returned from active duty in Iraq !

As the son-of-a-son-of-a-sailor, his father a navy sea captain, M. Randolph Mason grew up on and around the waters of Chesapeake Bay and maritime Florida. In his lifetime he has lived in twenty-three locations, including five years in Europe, and is conversational in three languages. 

Of his many avocations, which include watercolor painting and music, he is most enamored with sailing.  His nautical passion is poignantly expressed in the beautifully descriptive works, Shipwright and Morgan 41.    

*M. Randolph Mason is a retired Army combat engineer officer. In 2007 he was recalled to active duty and served the year with the Multi-National Force - Iraq, in Baghdad.  He holds a BS in Geology from Old Dominion University and an MS in Geophysics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.  Major Mason now teaches math and science at a small, private, military academy in Alabama.
