Limited by the terms of a restrictive trust established by his wealthy but unsympathetic father, Bryne lives at a marina, on a converted Skipjack, an oyster dredging sailboat... and he lives in Jimmy Buffett style. But, there are the two little girls, Savannah and Caroline, not his, that get unexpectedly dumped on him.  His discretionary funds take a dive.  This is absolutely not the plan he had mapped out for his life.  Byrne cannot do this alone.

 Irene is a statistician for the government and the sole support for her mother.  T. Phillip Jefferson has a few issues which he stoically holds at bay.    Did I tell you that beautiful Irene has been accidentally blinded in one eye?  The Sanderling is a story of triumph over tragedy, pride, and stoicism.
